Future Initiative Eifel

The Eifel Future Initiative is a cross-border association of numerous partners who are all pursuing a major goal: The promotion of the greater Eifel region and the joint profiling of the Eifel in the competition between the regions. The Eifel Future Initiative was launched in 2005 in order to be able to implement this in the long term on a thematic and cross-border basis. Under the motto "Wir.Leben.Eifel" (We.Life.Eifel), the ZI Eifel brings together stakeholders from Rhineland-Palatinate, North Rhine-Westphalia and East Belgium across national borders.

Current partners of the initiative are nine districts and two municipalities, the chambers of industry and commerce, the chambers of crafts and agriculture and the district farmers' associations. Numerous associations and initiatives also support the network work. The ZI Eifel provides the Eifel-Ardennes economic region with important impulses, organizes internal and external communications and creates connections with the aim of bringing ideas, institutions and people together.

With the introduction of the EIFEL brand, the ZI Eifel is taking an important step towards positioning the region externally and is thus actively competing with other regions. In addition to strengthening the regional economic power as a business location and labor market region, the brand establishment should also contribute to increasing the regional identity.
